i must say, the first week of term 4 has gone off to an interesting start.
apart from the usual monday blues, i pretty much survived well.
studying with dan is the bomb.
because her don't-disturb-me attitude when she studies is infectious.
and so i don't get distracted.
yesterday was probably one of the most eventful days of my life.
i'll definately remember it, anyway.
firstly, racheltan actually prepared 3 econs essay outlines for the lecture in the morning!
WHOA, MIRACLE. haha.
secondly, while playing handball my teacher, msng, attempted to shoot the ball into the goal i was guarding at that time and it ricocheted off the goal post and hit me straight in my left eye.
$^#% painful, my eye immediately watered.
thank God i was spared from blindless.
thirdly and lastly, I GOT STUNG BY A FREAKING HORNET while playing ball with dan.
i was in the middle of nowhere when i felt this sharp pain on my leg, and instinctively swiped at it.
and voila! the hornet was writhing on its back on the track.
max promptly killed it for me, that sweet girl.
but before it died i actually saw venom in a droplet dangling from its sting.
WHOA.
the sting was awfully long, too. but it retracted after the hornet died.
so anyway my leg hurt and msng washed it, applied calamine lotion and gave me ice.
the ice helped soothe the pain and swelling (it looked like a mozzie bite) but it still hurt quite a bit.
decided to play safe and visit my doctor about it, so i took early-leave and dumped my bag in the chem lab with dan.
returned to school after the doctor's with medication.
right now, the area near my ankle is swollen and red.
it looks more like i sprained my ankle than a hornet's sting.
eww, my ankle looks so fat and unglam.
haha thankfully it doesn't hurt anymore, but it itches quite bad!
hope it gets better soon.
but so cool, its my first insect sting. :D
here's a picture of mottly, the hornet that stung me!
(yes, i brought it home and gave it a name)
note: the sting was more than 2x the length in the picture.
